Method
Make the Dough
- 1
Activate Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- 2
Mix Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a dough forms.
- 3
Knead Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 4
Let it Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Prepare Shrimp Topping
- 5
Season Shrimp
In a mixing bowl, combine peeled and deveined shrimp, minced garlic, lemon juice, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper to taste. Toss to coat evenly.
- 6
Assemble and Bake Pizza
- 7
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
- 8
Shape Dough
Once risen, punch down the dough and transfer it to a floured surface. Roll or stretch it out to your desired pizza shape.
- 9
Add Sauce and Toppings
Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese, then add the cooked shrimp, and top with fresh basil leaves and grated Parmesan cheese.
- 10
Bake Pizza
Transfer the pizza to a baking sheet or pizza stone and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- 11
Slice and Serve
Remove the pizza from the oven, allow it to cool slightly, slice into six pieces, and serve warm.
