Method
Prepare Bruschetta
- 1
Toast the Bread
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the baguette or Italian bread into 1/2 inch thick slices. Arrange the slices on a baking sheet.
- 2
Add Olive Oil
Drizzle the olive oil over each slice of bread, ensuring they are well coated.
- 3
Toast in Oven
Place the baking sheet in the oven and toast for about 5-7 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and crispy.
- 4
Prepare Garlic
While the bread is toasting, peel the garlic clove and cut it in half. Once the bread is toasted, rub the cut side of the garlic clove over the top of each slice.
- 5
Add Salt
Sprinkle a pinch of salt over the toasted bread slices.
- 6
Prepare Tomatoes
Chop the cherry tomatoes in half and add them to a bowl. Season with salt and some chopped fresh basil leaves.
Assemble
- 7
Top with Tomatoes
Spoon the tomato mixture over the toasted bread slices evenly.
- 8
Add Mozzarella
Tear the fresh mozzarella cheese into small pieces and distribute them over the bruschetta.
- 9
Finish with Basil
Garnish with additional fresh basil leaves for a fresh flavor.
- 10
Drizzle Balsamic Glaze
Finish your Margherita bruschetta by drizzling balsamic glaze over the top of each piece, and add pepper to taste.
