Method

Preparing the Salmon

  1. 1

    Season the Salmon

Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Drizzle olive oil over the fillets, then season with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, ensuring the grates are clean and lubricated to prevent sticking.

  3. 3

    Grill the Salmon

Place the salmon fillets skin-side down on the grill. Close the lid and grill for about 6-8 minutes. Flip the fillets carefully and grill for an additional 4-6 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

Making the Lemon Butter Sauce

  1. 4

    Melt the Butter

In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter until it’s fully melted and slightly bubbling.

  2. 5

    Add Flavorings

Add the minced garlic to the melted butter, sautéing until fragrant, about 1 minute. Be careful not to brown the garlic.

  3. 6

    Combine Ingredients

Stir in the fresh lemon juice, lemon zest, and chopped parsley into the butter mixture. Allow to simmer for an additional 2 minutes to meld the flavors.

Preparing the Sides

  1. 7

    Cook the Quinoa

Rinse 1 cup of quinoa under cold water. In a saucepan, combine quinoa with 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15 minutes or until the water is absorbed. Fluff with a fork before serving.

  2. 8

    Grill the Asparagus

Toss the asparagus with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Grill alongside the salmon for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until tender and slightly charred.

Serving

  1. 9

    Plate the Dish

Place a salmon fillet on each plate. Drizzle the lemon butter sauce generously over the top. Serve with a side of quinoa and grilled asparagus.

  2. 10

    Garnish

Optionally, garnish with extra chopped parsley and lemon wedges before serving.
