Main Ingredients

Herb Breadcrumb Topping

Method

Preparation of Haddock

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. 2

    Prepare the Haddock

Rinse the haddock fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Place them in a baking dish.

  3. 3

    Season the Fish

Sprinkle the haddock fillets with salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Set aside to marinate for about 10 minutes.

Making the Herb Breadcrumb Topping

  1. 4

    Mix the Topping Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine breadcrumbs, minced garlic, chopped parsley, dried thyme, and melted butter. Mix until the breadcrumbs are well coated.

  2. 5

    Apply the Topping

Spread the breadcrumb mixture evenly over the seasoned haddock fillets in the baking dish.

Cooking the Dish

  1. 6

    Bake the Haddock

Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the haddock is cooked through and the topping is golden brown.

Preparing the Vegetable Side

  1. 7

    Prepare the Asparagus

While the haddock is baking, wash the asparagus (or your choice of vegetable) and trim the ends.

  2. 8

    Steam or Sauté

You can either steam the asparagus for about 5-7 minutes or sauté it in a pan with a bit of olive oil until tender.

Serving

  1. 9

    Plate the Dish

Once the haddock is done baking, remove it from the oven. Serve the herb-crusted haddock alongside the prepared vegetable side.

  2. 10

    Garnish and Enjoy

You may garnish with additional lemon wedges or fresh herbs, if desired. Enjoy your delicious herb-crusted haddock!
