Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Brew the Black Tea

In a saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Once boiling, remove from heat and add 4 black tea bags. Allow the tea to steep for 5-7 minutes, depending on your desired strength. Once steeped, remove the tea bags and let the tea cool to room temperature.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Cranberry Syrup

In a separate pot, combine 1 cup of fresh cranberries and 1 cup of granulated sugar with 1 cup of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes, or until the cranberries burst and the mixture thickens slightly. Remove from heat and strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve to remove solids, pressing down on the cranberries to extract as much liquid as possible.

  3. 3

    Mix the Lemonade

In a large pitcher, combine the cooled black tea, cranberry syrup, and 1 cup of fresh lemon juice. Stir well to combine.

  4. 4

    Add Cold Water

Pour in 4 cups of cold water to the pitcher and stir. Taste and adjust sweetness if necessary, adding more sugar or syrup to your preference.

  5. 5

    Serve Over Ice

Fill glasses with ice and pour the cranberry black tea lemonade over the ice. Garnish with fresh lemon slices.
