Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Beef

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix with your hands until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a half-pound patty. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cook the Toppings

  1. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  2. 4

    Sauté the Onions

In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and cook until caramelized, about 8-10 minutes. Set aside.

Cook the Burger

  1. 5

    Grill the Patties

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Grill the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached.

  2. 6

    Melt the Beer Cheese

In the last minute of grilling, top each patty with beer cheese and cover to melt.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 7

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each burger bun, layer lettuce, the grilled patty with melted beer cheese, bacon, sautéed onions, tomato slices, and pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.
