Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Blueberries

In a medium bowl, mash the fresh blueberries with a fork until they are mostly broken down and juicy.

  2. 2

    Juicing the Lemons

Cut the lemons in half and juice them into a measuring cup, removing any seeds. You should have about 1/2 cup of lemon juice.

  3. 3

    Sweeten the Mixture

Add the granulated sugar to the mashed blueberries and lemon juice mixture. Stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved.

Assembly

  1. 4

    Combine the Ingredients

In a large pitcher, combine the blueberry-lemon mixture with the lemonade. Stir well to combine.

  2. 5

    Add the Basil

Gently tear the fresh basil leaves and add them to the pitcher. Stir to release the basil flavor.

  3. 6

    Finish with Club Soda

Just before serving, add the club soda to the pitcher and stir gently to mix. This will give your lemonade a refreshing fizz.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve Chilled

Pour the blueberry basil lemonade into glasses filled with ice. Garnish with a few whole blueberries and a basil leaf if desired.
