Dipping Sauce

Method

Oysters Preparation

  1. 1

    Shucking the Oysters

Using an oyster knife, carefully shuck each oyster by inserting the knife into the hinge of the oyster shell. Twist the knife to pop open the shell and slide the knife along the inside of the shell to detach the meat. Be cautious of sharp edges and keep the oyster liquor (the liquid inside) intact.

  2. 2

    Serving the Oysters

Place the shucked oysters on a platter filled with crushed ice to keep them chilled. Arrange them neatly, ensuring they remain upright to preserve the liquor.

Dipping Sauce Preparation

  1. 3

    Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and Tabasco sauce. Stir well until all ingredients are integrated and the sauce is smooth.

  2. 4

    Season the Sauce

Add salt and black pepper to the dipping sauce to taste. Mix again to ensure even seasoning.

  3. 5

    Chill the Sauce

Cover the dipping sauce with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
