Preparation

1. Prepare Roselle Petals

Rinse the roselle petals under cold water to remove any dirt or impurities. Remove the calyx from the petals and set them aside.

2. Boil the Water

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.

3. Add Roselle Petals

Once the water is boiling, add the prepared roselle petals to the pot.

4. Simmer

Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 20 minutes. Stir occasionally.

5. Strain the Mixture

After simmering, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a clean pitcher to separate the liquid from the solids.

6. Add Sugar and Lemon Juice

While the liquid is still warm, stir in 1 cup of sugar and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice until fully dissolved.

7. Chill the Beverage

Refrigerate the strained roselle drink for at least 1 hour until chilled.

Serving Suggestions

8. Prepare for Serving

Once chilled, serve the roselle drink over ice cubes in glasses.

9. Garnish

Garnish each glass with fresh mint leaves for added flavor and presentation.
