Assembly
Method
Khachapuri Assembly and Baking
- 1
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat.
- 2
Shape the Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into two equal portions. Roll each portion into an oval shape about 1/2 inch thick.
- 3
Fill the Dough
Place half of the cheese filling in the center of each oval. Fold the edges of the dough over the filling to create a boat shape, pinching the ends to seal them.
- 4
Add Butter
Make an indentation in the center of the filling and add a tablespoon of melted butter.
- 5
Bake Khachapuri
Transfer the khachapuri to the preheated oven (or onto the pizza stone) and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- 6
Serve
Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and serve warm. Optionally, mix the melted butter and cheese together before eating.
