Dessert Bars

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

  2. 2

    Mix dry ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, brown sugar, flour, and salt. Mix thoroughly.

  3. 3

    Melt butter

In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in honey and vanilla extract.

  4. 4

    Combine mixtures

Pour the melted butter mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until well combined. If using, fold in the chocolate chips and nuts.

  5. 5

    Bake

Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared baking pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

  6. 6

    Cool and cut

Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Cut into bars and allow to cool completely before serving.
