Prepare the Glass
Fill a tall glass (preferably a highball or a hurricane glass) with ice cubes to chill it.

Mix the Tequila and Orange Juice
In a shaker, pour in 2 oz of tequila and 4 oz of fresh orange juice. Shake gently to combine.

Pour the Mixture
Remove the ice from the glass and pour the tequila and orange juice mixture over fresh ice in the glass.

Add Grenadine
Slowly pour 1 oz of grenadine over the back of a spoon into the glass. It will sink to the bottom, creating a sunrise effect.

Garnish the Drink
Place a maraschino cherry and an orange wedge on the rim of the glass for garnish.
