Method

Waffle Batter Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until well combined.

  2. 2

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, then add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; some lumps are okay.

Waffle Cooking

  1. 4

    Preheat Waffle Iron

Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.

  2. 5

    Cook Waffles

Lightly grease the waffle iron with cooking spray or melted butter. Pour the recommended amount of batter onto the center of the hot waffle iron. Close the lid and cook until the waffles are golden brown and crispy, usually about 5 minutes.

  3. 6

    Remove Waffles

Carefully remove the waffles from the iron and place them on a plate. Keep warm while you cook the remaining batter.

Sweet Cream Topping Preparation

  1. 7

    Whip Cream

In a mixing bowl, add heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, whip until soft peaks form.

Plating

  1. 8

    Serve Waffles

Place a waffle on a serving plate, dollop with sweet cream topping, and sprinkle with powdered sugar to taste.
