Method
Biscuit Preparation
- 1
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- 3
Cut in Butter
Add the unsalted butter to the flour mixture. Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- 4
Add Buttermilk
Pour in the buttermilk and mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix; the dough should be slightly sticky.
Sausage Preparation
- 5
Cook Sausages
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage links until browned and fully cooked, about 8-10 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Assembly
- 6
Shape Biscuits
On a floured surface, turn out the biscuit dough and gently knead it a few times. Roll it out to about ½ inch thickness. Cut out circles using a biscuit cutter or glass.
- 7
Wrap Sausages
Place a sausage link in the center of each biscuit circle. Fold the dough over the sausage and pinch the edges to seal.
- 8
Bake
Place the wrapped sausages on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown.
Spicy Mustard Preparation
- 9
Mix Mustard Sauce
In a small bowl, combine the yellow mustard, hot sauce, honey, and garlic powder. Mix well until smooth.
