Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until well combined.

  2. 2

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix; some lumps are fine.

  2. 4

    Heat Skillet

Preheat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat. You can lightly grease it with a bit of butter or oil if necessary.

  3. 5

    Cook Pancakes

Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes until golden brown.

  4. 6

    Serve

Remove pancakes from the skillet and keep warm. Serve immediately topped with maple syrup and fresh berries, if desired.
