Method

Cinnamon Rolls

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a small saucepan, heat the milk and butter until warm (not boiling). In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk mixture, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.

  2. 2

    Mix the Ingredients

Add the eggs, salt, and flour to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  3. 3

    Let the Dough Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Filling

In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and ground cinnamon.

  5. 5

    Roll the Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.

  6. 6

    Add Filling and Roll

Spread softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly on top. Roll the dough tightly from the long side to form a log.

  7. 7

    Cut the Rolls

Slice the log into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased baking dish. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.

  8. 8

    Bake the Rolls

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the cinnamon rolls for about 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.

Chocolate Caramel Sauce

  1. 9

    Make the Sauce

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the granulated sugar and cook until it melts into a golden caramel. Carefully add the heavy cream while stirring continuously.

  2. 10

    Add Cocoa and Butter

Stir in the cocoa powder and butter, mixing until well blended. Remove from heat and add vanilla extract.

Topping

  1. 11

    Serve

Once the cinnamon rolls are baked and slightly cooled, drizzle the chocolate caramel sauce over them and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
