Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy. This should take about 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally. Once done, remove the bacon and place it on a paper towel to drain excess grease.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Vegetables

While the bacon is cooking, wash and dry the lettuce leaves. Slice the tomato and avocado. For the avocado, cut it in half, remove the pit, and scoop out the flesh with a spoon. Slice the avocado into thin pieces.

Assembly

  1. 3

    Toast the Bread

Toast the sourdough bread slices until golden brown. You can use a toaster or a skillet for this. If using a skillet, add a little butter for added flavor.

  2. 4

    Spread the Mayonnaise

Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on one side of each slice of toasted bread.

  3. 5

    Layer the Ingredients

On two of the bread slices (mayonnaise side up), layer the lettuce, tomato slices, avocado slices, crispy bacon, and Swiss cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  4. 6

    Complete the Sandwich

Top with the remaining slices of bread, mayonnaise side down. Press down gently to secure the layers.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve with Sides

Cut the sandwich in half and serve with kettle chips and pickles on the side.
