Method
Preparation
Prepare the Beef
Remove the beef tenderloin from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This helps in even cooking.
Preheat Oven
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
Cooking
Dry the Beef
Pat the beef tenderloin dry with paper towels. This helps to achieve a nice sear.
Sear the Beef
In an oven-safe skillet, heat over medium-high heat. Once hot, sear the beef on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Roast in Oven
Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and roast for 20-30 minutes for medium-rare, or until the internal temperature reaches 130°F (54°C). Adjust time according to desired doneness.
Rest the Beef
Once cooked to your liking, remove the beef from the oven and let it rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.
Serving
Serve
Slice the beef tenderloin into 1-inch thick slices and serve. Optionally, drizzle any remaining pan juices over the slices.
