Jalapeno Preparation

Buttermilk Ranch Dipping Sauce

Method

Jalapeno Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Jalapenos

Preheat your grill or smoker to 225°F (107°C). Carefully slice each jalapeno in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes to reduce the heat, if desired.

  2. 2

    Make the Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese and shredded cheddar cheese. Stir until well mixed and creamy.

  3. 3

    Stuff the Jalapenos

Spoon the cheese mixture into each jalapeno half, filling them generously.

  4. 4

    Wrap with Bacon

Wrap each stuffed jalapeno with a slice of bacon, ensuring the ends are tucked underneath to hold the bacon in place.

Cooking

  1. 5

    Cook the Jalapenos

Place the bacon-wrapped jalapenos directly on the grill grates or on a baking sheet. Smoke or grill for approximately 30-40 minutes, until the bacon is crispy and the jalapenos are tender.

Buttermilk Ranch Dipping Sauce

  1. 6

    Prepare the Dipping Sauce

In a medium bowl, whisk together buttermilk, sour cream, and mayonnaise until smooth. Add in dried dill, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine.

  2. 7

    Chill the Sauce

Refrigerate the dipping sauce for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
