Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).

  2. 2

    Prepare Brussels Sprouts

Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and remove any yellow or damaged outer leaves. Cut them in half lengthwise.

  3. 3

    Chop Shallots

Peel and slice the shallots thinly.

  4. 4

    Cook Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the smoked bacon until crispy. Remove from skillet, chop into pieces, and set aside. Reserve some bacon fat in the skillet.

Roasting

  1. 5

    Toss Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the halved Brussels sprouts, sliced shallots, cooked bacon, extra virgin olive oil, sea salt, and red pepper flakes. Toss everything until evenly coated.

  2. 6

    Arrange on Baking Sheet

Spread the mixture in an even layer on a baking sheet, ensuring the Brussels sprouts are cut side down for better caramelization.

  3. 7

    Roast

Roast in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the Brussels sprouts are tender and golden brown, stirring halfway through.

Finishing Touch

  1. 8

    Add Balsamic Glaze

Remove the Brussels sprouts from the oven and drizzle with balsamic glaze. Toss gently to combine.

  2. 9

    Serve

Transfer to a serving dish and enjoy your delicious roasted Brussels sprouts!
