House Sauce

Cheese and Toppings

Method

House Sauce Preparation

  1. 1

Step 1: Heat the Olive Oil

In a medium saucepan, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat until shimmering.

  2. 2

    Step 2: Sauté the Garlic

Add 2 teaspoons of minced garlic to the saucepan and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant. Be careful not to let it brown.

  3. 3

    Step 3: Add Crushed Tomatoes

Pour in 400 ml of crushed tomatoes, stirring well to combine with the garlic and olive oil.

  4. 4

    Step 4: Season the Sauce

Add 1 teaspoon each of dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Stir well, and taste the sauce to adjust seasoning if necessary.

  5. 5

Step 5: Add Red Pepper Flakes

Stir in 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes, adjusting the amount to your preferred spice level.

  6. 6

    Step 6: Simmer the Sauce

Lower the heat and let the sauce simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens to your desired consistency.

Cheese and Assembly

  1. 7

    Step 7: Prepare Mozzarella Cheese

While the sauce is simmering, shred or slice 300 grams of mozzarella cheese and set aside.

  2. 8

    Step 8: Assemble the Dish

Once the sauce is ready, spread a generous amount over your pizza dough or base. Evenly distribute the mozzarella cheese on top.

  3. 9

    Step 9: Add Additional Toppings

If desired, add any additional toppings of your choice (vegetables, meats, etc.) over the cheese.

  4. 10

    Step 10: Bake

Bake in a preheated oven at 220°C (425°F) for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the crust is golden brown.
