Method

House Sauce

  1. 1

    Prepare the Sauce

In a medium saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

  2. 2

    Combine Ingredients

Stir in tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and sugar. Mix well.

  3. 3

    Simmer the Sauce

Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Meatball

  1. 4

    Mix the Meatball Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, grated Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix until well combined.

  2. 5

    Form the Meatballs

Shape the mixture into meatballs, about the size of a golf ball.

  3. 6

    Cook the Meatballs

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the meatballs until browned on all sides, about 10 minutes.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Prepare the Toppings

In the same skillet, add chopped smoked bacon and crumbled sausage. Cook until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat.

  2. 8

    Layer the Ingredients

In a baking dish, spread a layer of house sauce at the bottom. Place the cooked meatballs on top, then add cooked ground beef, crispy bacon, and sausage.

  3. 9

    Add Cheese

    Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.

  4. 10

    Bake

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
