Method
Preparation of Flatbread
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). This will ensure that the flatbreads become crispy.
- 2
Prepare Flatbread
Place the flatbreads on a baking sheet. Brush each flatbread with olive oil evenly on one side.
Assembling the Toppings
- 3
Slice the Mozzarella
Cut the fresh mozzarella fiore di latte into slices, about 0.5 cm thick.
- 4
Halve the Cherry Tomatoes
Wash the cherry tomatoes and cut them in half. This will make them easier to eat and allow their juices to mingle with the other ingredients.
- 5
Prepare the Basil
Tear the fresh basil leaves into smaller pieces by hand. This will release their essential oils and enhance the flavor.
Baking the Flatbreads
- 6
Add the Toppings
Evenly distribute the mozzarella slices over the oiled side of the flatbreads. Then, add the halved cherry tomatoes on top of the cheese, followed by the torn basil leaves.
- 7
Bake
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the edges of the flatbread are golden brown.
Finishing Touches
- 8
Drizzle with Glaze and Oil
Once the flatbreads are out of the oven, drizzle the balsamic glaze and basil oil over the top for added flavor.
- 9
Slice and Serve
Slice the flatbreads into wedges. Serve immediately while warm, garnished with additional fresh basil if desired.
