Method
Prepare the Burger Patties
- 1
Form the Patties
In a bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Divide the mixture into four equal portions (about 4 ounces each) and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.
- 2
Cook the Patties
Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties, add a slice of American cheese on top of each patty, and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the patties reach your desired doneness.
Prepare the Toppings
- 3
Prepare the Lettuce and Tomato
Wash the lettuce leaves and pat them dry. Slice the tomato into thick slices.
- 4
Make the Special Sauce
If you don't have special sauce, you can combine mayonnaise, ketchup, and a dash of mustard to create a similar flavor.
Toast the Buns
- 5
Toast the Buns
Cut the brioche buns in half and toast them on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
Assemble the Burger
- 6
Layer the Ingredients
On the bottom half of each toasted brioche bun, layer the lettuce, followed by a burger patty with melted cheese, another burger patty, a slice of tomato, and a generous drizzle of special sauce. Top with the other half of the brioche bun.
