Method
Hummus Preparation
- 1
Prepare Sprouted Chickpeas
If not using store-bought sprouted chickpeas, sprout dried chickpeas by soaking them in water for 8 hours. Drain and rinse, then place them in a jar covered with a breathable lid. Rinse and drain every 8-12 hours until they sprout, usually in 2-3 days.
- 2
Blend Ingredients
In a food processor, combine the sprouted chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic cloves, olive oil, cumin powder, salt, and water. Blend until smooth. If the consistency is too thick, add more water, one tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency is reached.
- 3
Taste and Adjust
Taste the hummus and adjust the seasoning by adding more salt or lemon juice if needed. Blend again until mixed.
- 4
Serve
Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with smoked paprika.
