Coffee Base

Ice Cream Float

Method

Prepare Cold Brew Coffee

  1. 1

    Make Cold Brew

In a large jar or pitcher, combine coarsely ground coffee with cold water in a 1:4 ratio (1 cup of coffee grounds to 4 cups of water). Stir gently and let it steep in the refrigerator for 12-24 hours.

  2. 2

    Strain Coffee

After steeping, strain the coffee through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into another container, discarding the grounds. You should have about 2 cups of cold brew concentrate.

Nitrogen Infusion

  1. 3

    Infuse Coffee with Nitrogen

Pour the cold brew coffee into a nitro coffee maker or a whipped cream dispenser. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to charge the coffee with nitrogen gas, usually by shaking the dispenser and letting it sit for a few minutes to infuse.

Assemble Nitro Coffee Float

  1. 4

    Add Ice Cream

In a large glass, place 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream at the bottom.

  2. 5

    Pour Nitro Coffee

Carefully pour the nitrogen-infused cold brew coffee over the ice cream, allowing it to float on top.

  3. 6

    Garnish

Top the float with a generous dollop of whipped cream, drizzle with chocolate syrup, and sprinkle cocoa powder and chocolate shavings on top for added flavor and presentation.
