Cacao Base

Method

Cacao Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cacao Base

In a small saucepan, combine the ceremonial cacao powder and water. Whisk together until the cacao is fully dissolved and there are no lumps.

  2. 2

    Add Flavorings

Add the vanilla extract, maple syrup (if using), and a pinch of sea salt to the cacao mixture. Stir well to combine.

  3. 3

    Heat the Mixture

Place the saucepan over medium heat and gently heat the mixture, stirring constantly until it is hot but not boiling. Remove from heat once hot.

Milk Preparation

  1. 4

    Choose Your Milk

Select one of the milk options (organic whole, oat, or house-made cashew milk). If using house-made cashew milk, prepare it by blending soaked cashews with water until smooth and creamy.

  2. 5

    Heat the Milk

In a separate saucepan, heat the selected milk over medium-low heat until warm. Do not let it boil.

Serving

  1. 6

    Combine and Serve

Pour the heated cacao base into a mug, then add the warm milk of your choice. Stir gently to combine. Serve hot and enjoy your ceremonial cacao!
