Method

Chips

  1. 1

    Prepare Chips

Spread tortilla chips evenly on a large baking sheet.

Chili

  1. 2

    Cook Beef

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is translucent.

  2. 3

    Brown the Meat

Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.

  3. 4

    Add Ingredients

Stir in chili powder, diced tomatoes (with juice), kidney beans (drained and rinsed), salt, and black pepper. Simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Toppings

  1. 5

    Assemble Nachos

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Once the chili is ready, spoon it generously over the tortilla chips. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.

  2. 6

    Bake Nachos

Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  3. 7

    Add Final Touches

Remove from the oven and top with fresh salsa, sliced jalapenos, chopped green onions, and dollops of sour cream.
