Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast. Let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Make Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead and Rise

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Assembling the Pizza

  1. 4

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to its highest setting (around 250°C / 482°F) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside.

  2. 5

    Shape Dough

Once risen, punch down the dough and divide it into two portions. Roll out one portion into a circle on a floured surface.

  3. 6

    Add Toppings

Spread tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Tear fior di latte cheese and distribute it over the sauce. Drizzle with olive oil and scatter fresh basil leaves on top.

  4. 7

    Bake

Transfer the pizza to the hot pizza stone or baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.

  5. 8

    Serve

Remove the pizza from the oven, let cool slightly, slice, and enjoy!
