For the Blackened Shrimp

Method

Prepare the Blackened Shrimp

  1. 1

    Season the Shrimp

In a bowl, combine paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to create a spice blend. Add the shrimp to the bowl and toss until the shrimp are evenly coated with the spice mixture.

  2. 2

    Cook the Shrimp

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp are opaque and slightly charred. Remove from heat and set aside.

Prepare the Guacamole

  1. 3

    Mash the Avocados

Cut the ripe avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a bowl. Using a fork or a potato masher, mash the avocados until smooth but still chunky.

  2. 4

    Mix in Other Ingredients

Add lime juice, chopped cilantro, diced tomato, finely chopped red onion, and salt to the mashed avocado. Stir gently until well combined.

Assemble the Dish

  1. 5

    Serve

Place a generous scoop of guacamole on a plate and top it with the blackened shrimp. Serve immediately with tortilla chips or as a topping for tacos.
