Method

Meatball Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, allspice, and nutmeg. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.

  3. 3

    Form Meatballs

Using your hands, form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.

  4. 4

    Bake Meatballs

Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through.

Gravy Preparation

  1. 5

    Make the Roux

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, whisk in the flour and cook for 2-3 minutes until it turns light golden brown.

  2. 6

    Add Broth

Gradually add the beef broth while whisking to avoid lumps. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 5 minutes until the gravy thickens.

  3. 7

    Stir in Cream and Seasonings

Stir in the heavy cream, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.

  4. 8

    Combine Meatballs and Gravy

Once the meatballs are cooked, transfer them to the skillet with the gravy. Stir gently to coat the meatballs in the gravy and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
