Prepare the Ingredients

    Chop Vegetables

    Finely chop the onion, carrot, celery, and garlic cloves.

    Gather Ingredients

    Ensure all ingredients for the Bolognese sauce are measured and ready.

Cook the Bolognese Sauce

    Heat Olive Oil

    In a large skillet or saucepan, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.

    Sauté Vegetables

    Add the chopped onion, carrot, and celery to the skillet. Sauté for about 5 minutes until softened.

    Add Garlic

    Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

    Brown the Meat

    Add 500 grams of ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.

    Add Tomatoes and Wine

    Once the meat is browned, add 400 grams of canned tomatoes, 2 tablespoons of tomato paste, and 150 ml of red wine.

    Stir in 1 teaspoon of dried oregano, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of black pepper. Let the sauce simmer for 30 minutes.

    Add fresh basil leaves just before serving for added flavor.

Cook the Spaghetti

    In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil.

    Add 400 grams of spaghetti to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
