Method

Pasta Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring 4 liters of water to a boil. Once boiling, add 1 tablespoon of salt.

  2. 2

    Cook Spaghetti

Add 400g of spaghetti to the boiling water. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

  3. 3

    Drain Pasta

Once cooked, drain the spaghetti in a colander and set aside.

Meat Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Heat Olive Oil

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.

  2. 5

    Sauté Onions and Garlic

Add 1 chopped medium onion and 3 teaspoons of minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.

  3. 6

    Brown the Meat

Add 500g of ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 7-10 minutes.

  4. 7

    Add Tomatoes and Seasonings

Stir in 400g of crushed canned tomatoes, 2 tablespoons of tomato paste, 1 teaspoon of dried oregano, 1 teaspoon of dried basil, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of black pepper. Mix well.

  5. 8

    Simmer the Sauce

Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.

  6. 9

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Once the sauce has thickened, add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.

  7. 10

    Serve

Serve the spaghetti hot, garnished with 50g of grated Parmesan cheese on top.
