Method
Cooking Pasta
- 1
Boil the Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.
- 2
Drain and Set Aside
Once cooked, drain the pasta and set aside. You may want to reserve a cup of pasta water in case you need to thin out the sauce later.
Grilling Chicken
- 3
Prepare Chicken
Season the boneless, skinless chicken breasts with olive oil, salt, and black pepper on both sides.
- 4
- 5
Slice Chicken
Once cooked, remove the chicken from the grill. Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it into strips.
Making Alfredo Sauce
- 6
Melt Butter
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Be careful not to let it brown.
- 7
Add Cream and Garlic
Pour in the heavy cream and add the minced garlic. Stir and bring to a gentle simmer.
- 8
Incorporate Cheese and Seasonings
Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Add nutmeg, salt, and black pepper to taste.
- 9
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the drained fettuccine to the sauce, stirring to coat the pasta evenly. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency.
Plating
- 10
Serve
Plate the fettuccine Alfredo and top with sliced grilled chicken. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley for added flavor and presentation.
