Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Ribs
Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F). Remove the thin membrane from the back of the pork ribs and pat the ribs dry with paper towels.
- 2
Create the Dry Rub
In a bowl, combine brown sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.
- 3
Apply the Dry Rub
Rub the dry rub mixture all over the ribs, ensuring they are evenly coated. Allow the ribs to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to absorb the flavors.
Cooking
- 4
Bake the Ribs
Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil, bone side down. Cover the ribs tightly with another layer of foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until the ribs are tender.
- 5
Prepare the Barbecue Sauce
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, honey, mustard, smoked paprika, and garlic powder. Stir to combine and let simmer for 10-15 minutes until slightly thickened. Adjust seasoning with salt and black pepper to taste.
- 6
Grill the Ribs
Once the ribs are done baking, preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Remove the ribs from the oven and discard the top foil. Brush a generous amount of barbecue sauce over the ribs. Place the ribs on the grill and cook for an additional 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally and brushing with more sauce until caramelized.
Serving
- 7
Serve the Ribs
Remove the ribs from the grill and let them rest for 5-10 minutes. Cut between the bones to separate the ribs. Serve with additional barbecue sauce on the side.
