Grilled Octopus and Accompaniments

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Octopus

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the cleaned octopus and simmer for about 30-40 minutes until tender. Remove from heat and let it cool in the water.

  2. 2

    Make the Chili Butter

In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add minced garlic and chili flakes, and cook for 2-3 minutes until fragrant. Remove from heat, and stir in fresh lemon juice. Set aside.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Fingerling Potatoes

Preheat the grill or oven to 200°C (400°F). Toss the halved fingerling potatoes in olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Roast or grill for about 25-30 minutes until crispy and golden.

  4. 4

    Grill the Octopus

Once the octopus is cool, cut it into smaller pieces. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Brush the octopus pieces with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Grill for about 3-4 minutes on each side until charred.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Dish

On a serving plate, arrange the grilled octopus, crispy fingerlings, and pickled peppers. Drizzle with the chili butter and garnish with fresh parsley.
