Meatballs & Sauce
Method
Preparation & Cooking
- 1
Make the Meatballs
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- 2
Form the Meatballs
Shape the mixture into meatballs, about the size of a golf ball.
- 3
Cook the Meatballs
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- 4
Prepare the Tomato Sugo
In the same skillet, add canned tomatoes and dried oregano. Simmer for 15 minutes, then return meatballs to the skillet and cook for an additional 10 minutes until the meatballs are cooked through.
- 5
Serve the Meatballs
Plate the meatballs with tomato sugo, and top with ricotta and grated parmesan cheese. Garnish with fresh basil.
- 6
Grill the Bread
Toast the bread slices on a grill until golden brown. Serve alongside the meatballs.
