For the Tiramisu

Method

Preparation of Mascarpone Mixture

1

Whip the Cream

In a mixing bowl, pour the heavy cream. Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, whip the cream until soft peaks form.

2

Combine Mascarpone and Sugar

In another bowl, combine mascarpone cheese and granulated sugar. Mix until smooth and creamy.

3

Add Vanilla Extract

Add the vanilla extract to the mascarpone mixture and mix until fully incorporated.

4

Fold in Whipped Cream

Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until there are no streaks.

Coffee Preparation

5

Brew Espresso

Brew 200 ml of strong espresso coffee and let it cool down to room temperature.

6

Add Coffee Liqueur (Optional)

If using, stir the coffee liqueur into the cooled espresso.

Assembling the Tiramisu

7

Dip Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger cookie in the espresso mixture for about 1-2 seconds. Do not soak them.

8

Layer Cookies and Cream

In a rectangular or square dish, start by placing a layer of dipped ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.

9

Repeat Layers

Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.

Chilling and Serving

10

Chill the Tiramisu

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight to allow the flavors to meld.

11

Serve and Garnish

Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and sprinkle grated dark chocolate. Cut into squares and serve chilled.
