Method

Marinade Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, mix together olive oil, soy sauce, minced garlic (finely chopped), chopped fresh rosemary, and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Steaks

Place the filet mignon steaks in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steaks, ensuring they are well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight for the best flavor.

Cooking the Steaks

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Steaks

Remove the steaks from the marinade and let them come to room temperature (about 15-20 minutes). Grill or sear the steaks for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or adjust cooking time to your desired doneness.

  3. 5

    Rest the Steaks

Once cooked, remove the steaks from the heat and let them rest on a plate for about 5 minutes before serving.

Preparing the Sides

  1. 6

    Cook the Baby Potatoes

Boil the baby potatoes in salted water for about 15-20 minutes until tender. Drain and set aside.

  2. 7

    Sauté the Asparagus

In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the asparagus and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until tender but still crisp. Season with salt to taste.

Plating

  1. 8

    Serve Your Dish

On a plate, arrange the filet mignon medallions alongside the sautéed asparagus and boiled baby potatoes. Drizzle any remaining marinade over the steaks for added flavor.
