Method

Marinating the Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the shell steaks out of the refrigerator and let them rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes before grilling.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the shell steaks with olive oil. Generously season both sides with kosher salt, freshly ground black pepper, and garlic powder. Optionally, you can place fresh rosemary sprigs on top for added flavor.

Preparing the Grill

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat the grill to high heat (about 450°F to 500°F). Make sure the grill grates are clean to prevent sticking.

Grilling the Steak

  1. 4

    Grill the Steak

Place the seasoned shell steaks on the grill. Grill for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving them to achieve a nice sear.

  2. 5

    Flip and Cook

Flip the steaks and continue grilling for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or adjust the time based on your desired doneness.

  3. 6

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the grill and let them rest for about 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Grilling the Corn

  1. 7

    Prepare the Corn

While the steaks are resting, wrap the corn on the cob in aluminum foil with a pat of butter and sprinkle with paprika.

  2. 8

    Grill the Corn

Place the wrapped corn on the grill for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally until tender.

Serving

  1. 9

    Plate the Meal

Slice the rested shell steaks and serve alongside the grilled corn. Add lemon wedges for squeezing over the steak and corn.
