Main Ingredients

Method

Preparing the Steak

  1. 1

    Season the Filet Mignon

Pat the filet mignon dry with paper towels. Season both sides of the steaks with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Sear the Filet Mignon

Heat olive oil in a skillet over high heat. Once hot, add the filet mignon and sear for about 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove from skillet and let rest.

Making the Mushroom Sauce

  1. 3

    Sauté the Mushrooms

In the same skillet, add butter and melt over medium heat. Add sliced mushrooms and minced garlic. Cook until mushrooms are browned and tender, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 4

    Add Cream and Thyme

Pour in the heavy cream and add the chopped thyme. Stir well and let simmer for about 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Season with additional salt and pepper if needed.

Serving

  1. 5

Prepare the Stone or Hot Plate

Preheat a stone or hot plate according to manufacturers' instructions until very hot.

  2. 6

    Serve the Dish

Place the rested filet mignon on the hot stone and pour the mushroom sauce over the top. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
