Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Codfish

If using salted codfish, soak it in water for 24 hours, changing the water several times. If using fresh codfish, skip this step.

  2. 2

    Cook the Potatoes

Peel and cut the potatoes into cubes. Boil them in salted water for about 15 minutes or until tender. Drain the potatoes and set aside.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Cook the Codfish

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent (about 3-4 minutes). Add the soaked codfish (or fresh cod) and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  2. 4

    Combine Ingredients

Add the boiled potatoes to the skillet with the codfish. Pour in the heavy cream and gently mix everything together. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  3. 5

    Finish Cooking

Reduce heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken slightly.

  4. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley on top before serving. Serve hot.
