Garlic and Seasoning Ingredients

Method

Preparation Directions

1

Clean the Seafood

Rinse the fresh clams, mussels, and shrimp under cold water to remove any sand or grit. Discard any open clams or mussels that do not close when tapped.

2

Sauté the Garlic

In a large pot or deep skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

3

Add the Red Pepper Flakes

Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds to infuse the oil with spice.

4

Add the Clams and Mussels

Add the clams and mussels to the pot. Pour in the lemon juice, and season with salt and black pepper. Stir to combine.

5

Cook the Clams and Mussels

Cover the pot and allow the clams and mussels to steam for about 5-7 minutes, or until they open. Discard any that remain closed.

6

Add the Shrimp

Once the clams and mussels are cooked, add the shrimp to the pot. Stir gently and cover again, cooking for an additional 3-4 minutes until the shrimp are pink and opaque.

7

Finish with Parsley

Remove the pot from heat and stir in the chopped fresh parsley. Adjust seasoning if necessary.

8

Serve

Serve the clams garlic seafood hot, garnished with additional parsley and lemon wedges on the side.
