Method
Preparing the Pizza Dough
- 1
Activate the Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- 2
Mix the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, salt, and olive oil. Pour in the frothy yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
- 3
Knead the Dough
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 4
Let the Dough Rise
Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Assembling and Baking the Pizza
- 5
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
- 6
Roll Out the Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
- 7
Add Tomato Sauce
Transfer the rolled dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the surface.
- 8
- 9
Season the Pizza
Sprinkle Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper over the top of the vegetables.
- 10
Bake the Pizza
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- 11
Slice and Serve
Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, slice it, and serve hot.
