For the Tiramisu
Method
Prepare the Coffee Mixture
- 1
Brew the Espresso
Brew 200 ml of strong espresso coffee and let it cool to room temperature.
- 2
Add Liqueur
Once cooled, mix in 2 tablespoons of dark rum or coffee liqueur into the espresso. Set aside.
Prepare the Mascarpone Cream
- 3
Whip the Cream
In a mixing bowl, whip 250 ml of heavy cream until soft peaks form. Set aside.
- 4
Mix Egg Yolks and Sugar
In another bowl, whisk together 4 egg yolks and 100 g of granulated sugar until pale and creamy.
- 5
Add Mascarpone and Vanilla
Gently fold in 500 g of mascarpone cheese and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract into the egg yolk mixture until well combined.
- 6
Combine with Whipped Cream
Carefully fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture to maintain the light texture.
Assemble the Tiramisu
- 7
Dip the Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger cookie into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not too soggy.
- 8
Layer the Ingredients
In a rectangular dish, create a layer of dipped ladyfingers at the bottom, followed by a layer of the mascarpone cream mixture. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with the mascarpone cream on top.
- 9
Chill the Dessert
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
Serve the Tiramisu
- 10
Dust with Cocoa Powder
Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder.
