Cook the Pasta
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.

Prepare the Sauce
While the pasta is cooking, cut the pancetta into small cubes. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the pancetta until it is crispy and golden, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Mix the Egg and Cheese
In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, grated Parmesan cheese, and black pepper until well combined. Set aside.

Combine Pasta and Pancetta
Once the pasta is drained, add it to the skillet with the pancetta. Toss to combine, allowing the residual heat to keep the pasta warm.

Serve the carbonara immediately, garnished with chopped fresh parsley and additional grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
