Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Cook the Fettuccine

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Alfredo Sauce

While the pasta is cooking, melt the unsalted butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.

  3. 3

    Add Cream and Cheese

Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

  4. 4

    Season the Sauce

Season the Alfredo sauce with salt and black pepper to taste. Make sure to taste the sauce and adjust seasoning as necessary.

  5. 5

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Once the fettuccine is cooked, reserve about 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta. Add the drained fettuccine directly to the Alfredo sauce in the skillet. Toss to coat the pasta evenly in the sauce, adding reserved pasta water a little at a time if the sauce is too thick.

  6. 6

    Serve

Garnish with chopped parsley and additional Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve immediately.
