Prepare the Ingredients
Start by washing the tomatoes and basil leaves under cold water. Pat them dry with a clean towel.

Slice the Tomatoes
Cut the tomatoes into thick slices (about 1/4 inch) and set them aside.

Slice the Mozzarella
Slice the fresh mozzarella into similar thicknesses as the tomatoes.

On a large plate or serving platter, arrange the tomato slices and mozzarella slices in an alternating pattern (tomato, mozzarella, tomato, mozzarella) until all are used.
