Using a sharp knife, slice the beefsteak tomato into 1/2-inch thick slices. Arrange the slices on a serving platter.

Slice the fresh mozzarella into 1/4-inch thick slices. Place the mozzarella slices on top of the tomato slices.

Tear the fresh basil leaves into smaller pieces and sprinkle them over the mozzarella and tomato.

In a small bowl, whisk together the extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
