Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken

In a bowl, combine the buttermilk, salt, pepper, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Add the chicken breasts and ensure they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Breading

In a separate bowl, mix the all-purpose flour and cornstarch together. Remove the chicken from the marinade and let any excess liquid drip off. Dredge the chicken in the flour mixture, ensuring it is evenly coated. Shake off any excess flour.

  3. 3

    Fry the Chicken

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Carefully place the breaded chicken in the hot oil, frying for about 6-8 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and place on a wire rack to drain excess oil.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Hot Sauce

In a small bowl, mix the Nashville hot sauce with a bit of the frying oil to create a sauce. Adjust the amount based on your heat preference.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Sandwich

Spread a generous amount of the hot sauce on the bottom half of the burger buns. Place the fried chicken on top, add pickles, and cover with the top half of the bun. Serve immediately.
